Don & Rhonda - | ||||||
DJs Don & Rhonda, Host of most live events for Indy Dancers, Don has DJ hundreds of dance Club events
since 1999 and learned
how to mix music for dance from
popular DJ Harriett Fishburn
Don & Rhonda bring a very unique entertainment package to the Club's live dances by offering so much more than "JukeBox music". Don (who owns an IT service company) has collected songs from several sources that bring a "live feel" to their hosted DJ dance Club shows by featuring one-of-a-kind music recordings, unreleased masters of older hits, artist's cuts of famous hits and other selected dance music. Music to inspire the fun in dance at each club meeting that many advanced dance enjoy. A few points: All (most) DJs selecting music do a good job of "covering the hits", that is easy as the lists are everywhere, but seasoned dancers want more, they want familiar music mixed with some interesting, different, unusual stuff. What set sets Indy Dancers apart is the unique never before heard versions of hits. Each week we "audition" for many hours hundreds of music cuts to find just the right balance of familiar dance songs with new, unreleased, or seldom heard versions that cover the widest selection of popular dance styles. Swing, Ballroom, Line Dance, Latin, and more dances are covered to keep it sounding "fresh". No two shows are alike! Yes we have Club favorites (many), but there is always something you have never heard before at Indy Dancers. Be it something from the 40's or the latest release, it is sure to be the best in fun dance music. Often we have audience members running to the stage to ask "what is that song?... we love it!" unusually because "Spotify, or whoever they are using" can not figure out what we are playing. Recently, we played an unreleased special version of Eric Clapton's "Layla" that he preformed and passed to friends. Another time, We were on a short list of people who got a new Rolling Stones song just hours after release. BTW, All copyrights are respected! We say often, "Dance music is like food... you may love pizza but you don't want the same all the time" Dance music should have a "fun factor" that can't be done with over played music. Examples: OLD TIME ROCK & ROLL - BOB SEGER |
